Shichimi is a spice blend widely used in Japan and considered excellent for health. It is traditionally composed of seven spices, hence its name in Japanese "shichi" (seven) "mi" (flavor). This variant contains more than 60% yuzu powder. It is produced in the Miyazaki region, in the village of Kagura where yuzu is considered a true treasure. In this shichimi, the yuzu powder is additionally mixed with red chili pepper and Japanese mikan mandarin peel. Widely appreciated for its aroma and unique flavor, somewhere between mandarin and citron, yuzu perfectly complements the delicate flavors of Japanese cuisine. Shichimi will enhance a wide variety of dishes such as udon-style noodle soups, avocado toast, vegetable and meat fondues, as well as baked fish and pan-fried potatoes.
